Noosa Reels - The church of the open sky
This is a highlight reel from a section of ‘The Church of the Open Sky’, an award winning feature length surf film by independent Australian filmmaker Nathan Oldfield. This excerpt features a selection of world class loggers sampling happy days along the points in Noosa, Queensland, Australia.
'The Church of the Open Sky' is a luscious visual love poem that explores gratefully lived surfing journeys. Shot on location in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka, the film features Dave Rastovich, Lauren Lindsey Hill, Tom Wegener, Belinda Baggs, CJ Nelson, Alex Knost, Johnny Abegg, Neal Purchase Jr, Jasson Salisbury, Devon Howard and many others.
Awards include Best Feature Film (San Diego), Spirit of the Festival (London), Best Cinematography (Berlin and Carolina), Best Heart & Soul (Cape Town) and Best Soundtrack (Florida, Ericeira and Cape Town).
